MAISON DES INQUANTS

Called Woollen Cloth Stock Exchange, it is, with the street of “La Parerie”, a testimony of the intense clothing industry activity that animated the city during the 12th, 13th, and 14th centuries. It is in the house of “Inquants” (criers) that one fixes the price, that the commercial transactions are consigned on big registers. The house of Inquants, dated from 13th and 14th centuries, included in its original architecture three Gothic openings which opened on the old street of “La Parerie” (Nowadays, H. Berlioz Street).
