Our capital

Narbonne the irresistible

Narbonne embodies more than 2,000 years of history! Ready for a real trip back in time?

This is where the Romans chose to build a capital, the biggest in Gaul, with the biggest port too! Narbonne also represents 1,000 years of Archbishops who shaped the city.

Our values

The DNA of the Côte du Midi

Céline Deschamps
Terrasses place de l'Hôtel de Ville Narbonne

On the Côte du Midi:

  • We speak with an unmistakeable accent! Its musicality conjures up the sound of the cicadas, the sight of the sea and fragrance of the garrigue.
  • We play rugby from generation to generation. We like to meet up at the stadiums to support our favourite teams, not forgetting all the fun of the third half.
  • We enjoy the sun and our terraces all year round, whether in the city, our picturesque villages or along the seafront: 300 days of sunshine a year!
  • We often have the wind in our hair! It chases away the clouds, brings out the sun in all seasons, and is great for some blustery activities.
  • We are amazed by the beauty of our landscapes, we are proud to live here, we have the gift of the gab.... In short, we are Occitan.
